Technology Adoption Rates

January 6, 2021

Today’s graph is messy at first glance.  After you read my comments, simply click on the larger version to review in-depth.  The colored lines show how fast different technologies have been adapted over time.

Here are a few of my thoughts:

–In general, we adopt technology pretty rapidly in the US.
–Look for the number of people and adoption percentages. In America, we have a supermajority of all people who have adopted and use all kinds of technology.
–The pace of adoption is speeding up.  Any new technology in the 2000s has had a meteoric adoption rate.

All this leads me to say: more to come.  Keep using new technology because the pace is going to get even faster—especially in commercial real estate.

Email me if you want to discuss this any further.
