At the NAIOP national convention this past fall, a few speakers touched on the topic of what is going to change when autonomous cars and UBER/Lyft allow workers to stop driving to work. Below are some key slides from the presentation done by Juan Dorado, John Cadenhead and Steffen Turoff. For each slide, you can click below for a larger view. At the bottom is a link to the full presentation. For you, I have picked out four key slides:
1. The City of Chandler right here in Arizona is requiring developers to consider creating space for drop-off and pick-up areas. We know the use of UBER and Lyft is increasing, creating this need. Every airport is currently dealing with this issue. Soon, office buildings will be doing the same.

2. We will see parking and charging areas for rideshare vehicles as they wait for rides. Here is a slide showing the ability to increase car usage over time as you UBER more than you drive.

3. Here is some information on how parking will decline. The latest projections predict 50% less parking requirements over the next 30 years.

4. Here is a slide on the ability to reuse the parking you will no longer need. I really like the easy, medium and difficult break down.
